The butcher of Israel

To those of you who dont know the last name of our former presidento is Katzav. This in good old Hebrew means butcher
Well he finally got hacked. What a relief. What an idiot. Two counts of rape  and two additional accounts of somthing else that I have difficulty translating from the hebrew .( sexual harrasement and indecent acts)  Lightning has been discharging from my fingers all day .Since he was accused this morning of these charges little lightening strikes have been eminating from all my fingers but fortunatly for you ,you will only get striken with my one and only typing finger.(middle finger right hand)
THe man has to have one of the biggest egos of all time.He was given the chance to strike out his record one and a half years ago with a deal  that would have given him a slap on the fingers but no, he took the deal and then backed down and dealt his downfall by insisting on a full blown trail to prove his innoncence.
The justice system really does work here. As Peres our present beloved president said this early afternoon there is one justice system for everbody
I think he thinks that his brain is in his pants,. His minimium sentence will be 4 years at the least
At the very least it puts women who have been raped or harrased in a much better position   .At least they will know that the system works and will work for them.
I must say that watching all the hype on t.v. all day has made me prouder to belong to a society that deals in such a way with a subject that at its core is very sensitive.
Durning the past year or so there have been a falling out of a goodly number of public figures that have been found guilty of not only sexual offences but of more mundane matters such as plain old theft of public money , political appointments with too much influence to the wrong people-(you know what I mean) and plain old lying.Maybe we will finally clean up the politics in the country a bit.

Ribbons of thought

Franks Ramblings...

Well winter finally arrived after the big fire in the Carmel; I think that Elaine described it in dramatic detail to you. I’m more of a rambling; -detail person, I’ll describe the rubber “Gummi” to you rather than how the floor is washed

Our cockatiel is sitting out on its stool on the porch in its cage chirping away as happy as can be. Birds are amazing creatures. This one has the mental ability of a dog, just in a different way. It’s a very social animal, it will sing along to any song that it hears on the radio or one that you whistle to. It bends its head for a scratch just like a dog will do  and gets rather upset if you don’t scratch exactly where it wants you to. We call him sweetie. My friend Myer who has the bird farm around the corner tell me that with proper care they can live till 20 or so.

The tzimmer has been a learning experience for both of us. We started to operate it late last summer. We were and I guess  still looking for our target market. Hopefully we are targeting tourist from outside the country who are looking for a slow tourist experience in the Nazareth area. We advertise on Google words in north America and eastern and western Europe. Our site is I thought well designed, short, and to the point and full of information. Our number one daughter Tiah who is on her way to Aussie land to get an MBA. has shown us how wrong we were.Shes done it all before and its interesting to learn from your own.WWW.cactustzimmer.com is well on her way in being redesigned and re targeted. As soon as we put up our signs at the entrance and the street near us with our two telephone numbers  we started to receive calls. Yes sir I replied , we are open for business,- how many nites would you like to stay? About two hours came the terse reply. How much do you charge?
I can tell you that we were unprepared for the two hour business proposition, and we must have received thirty or so calls in the first couple of weeks before word got around that we don’t do it. I spoke to other operators on the Moshav who run tzimmers and the  overall comment was that it pays the bills. Our tzimmer is on the second floor of our home and not in a separate cabin 50 meters away from the house.
My friend Mitch who runs a very successful tzimmer and has room for up to 50 people on his site taught me the art of listening carefully on the telephone for the nuances of speech  and how to say NO in a nice way.
We have had some very interesting people stay including one couple in there late sixties who this weekend have returned for the third time. I gave him a special rate as he said he would come twice a month. He usually comes late Friday evening and leaves Sat in the early afternoon. I haven’t looked to closely to see if it’s the same girlfriend each time. But he does send me a cheque on a regular basis and stays longer than two hours.

      Stat tuned for more   Frank
